Is it ethical to use embryonic stem cells for medical research knowing that they embryo is destroyed in the process?

If you had a painful, terminal illness, would you want to be able to choose euthanasia or PAS in order to end your life? Would you support a family member that wanted to do this? WHY or WHY not?
